Day Camp

Be WISE is a mathematics, science and technology camp designed to develop interest, excitement, and self confidence in young women who are entering grade 7 or 8 in the fall of 2009.

The camp began in the summer of 1989 and since then over 2,000 girls have completed the camp program. This summer will be the 20th year and many special activities have been planned to celebrate this milestone.

This residential camp for 130 young women will be held from June 14 - 19, 2009. It features a separate curriculum for each grade level emphasizing hands-on activities in math and science. Maximum interaction and instruction is encouraged with a ratio of 2 teachers per 12 to 16 girls. And of course, what would camp be without activities such as swimming, volleyball and tennis!

The camp is located on the campus of Denison University in Granville, Ohio. This experience includes sleeping and eating in a college dorm, learning in modern science labs and using campus recreational areas.

Famous Women in Math & Science
Be WISE campers learn about historical women leaders and pioneers.

The Be WISE "Families" or camper groups are named after famous women in Math and Science.

Each group learns about their person and presents a skit to all the campers at the week's end.
